Kia Sonet (NCAP Safety Rating – NA) Hits Buffalo, Keeps All Safe!

The images on the internet show Kia Sonet (NCAP Safety Rating Not Available) hitting a buffalo. It isn’t a surprise considering the things one could find on our Indian roads. Animals can come up from anywhere. Also, this is neither the first nor the last time anyone has hit an animal on the road. However, what is even more important is the fact that none of the passengers were harmed. This highlights the importance of ensuring a high NCAP safety rating before buying a car. Accidents can’t be avoided on the roads. At least you should have a car that is best designed to handle such unfortunate scenarios. The Tata Nexon with a 5-star safety rating is one of the most important reasons why our population is getting more aware of such things. They are considering the safety rating of a car before buying it.

Kia Sonet NCAP Safety Rating

While the Kia Sonet has officially not been tested by the Global NCAP, we could expect a decent performance of the compact SUV. The Sonet comes with safety features like 6 Airbags, ABS with EBD, ESC with Hill Ascent Control, Vehicle Stability Management, ISOFIX child anchor, Front and rear parking sensors with a rear camera and tyre pressure monitoring system. These are quite modern safety equipment indicating a decent possible safety rating. The carmakers are not required to send their cars for the safety rating test. It is out of their free will to send their products to the NCAP. Until that happens, we can’t be sure of the actual safety rating of the SUV.
