The Yamaha R15 is slated to receive another set of updates as test mules of the updated motorcycle were recently spied on test on an expressway in Noida. The refreshed model, which will likely launch as the Yamaha R15 V4, will feature vertically stacked projector headlamps similar to those seen on the recently introduced Yamaha R7.

While not many details of the updated R15 are available at this moment, looking at the spy video we have above, it can be deduced that the new version would have a slightly more aerodynamic fairing and likely a sportier stance. The motorcycle will surely received reworked decals on the newly designed front fairing along with possibly a new set of rear view mirrors. From the looks of it, the tail section will remain unchanged with the same LED taillamp carried over from the V3. Even the rear seat cowl and the end-can seem to have been taken from the current version. However, the production version of the V4 could still end up looking considerably different owing to the reworked graphics and the revised front fairing.
Powering the Yamaha R15 V4 will be the same 155cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that goes on to propel the current motorcycle. In its current state of tune, the highly refined motor outputs a maximum power of 18.6 bhp along with a peak torque of 14.1 Nm. The motor comes mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. While this engine will be definitely carried over to the updated version, it might be re-tuned a bit in order to provide some extra punch lower down the revs. Also, the recently uploaded video reveals that unlike what was being speculated, the R15 V4 won’t get USD forks.

Back in May this year, the Japanese two-wheeler giant had revealed the first-ever Yamaha R7, a replacement to the R6 super sports motorcycle that was discontinued around the world in November last year. Among the highlights of the R7’s styling is its vertically stacked headlamp, which is flanked by LED DRLs at either end. It looks like a similar front-end styling will be seen even on the upcoming Yamaha R15 V4. Launch date and other details of the new motorcycle aren’t available at the moment but you can safely stay tuned to CarBlogIndia for more on the upcoming offering.
