Away from the upcoming Paris Motor Show, Jeep has revealed its all-new Compass SUV in Brazil ahead of its launch next year. The model will sit inbetween the Renegade and Cherokee, and is expected to be offered in Europe.
Although the set of images provided aren't the most detailed, you can clearly see the Compass's Cherokee-inspired face, with a curvier profile than the old model. The chunky lower bodywork and raised ride height shows that, despite it competing with models such as the VW Tiguan, it still appears a true Jeep at first glance. A tall, rising shoulderline also makes it less boxy than the Renegade.
Inside, the we can only see the dashboard design, but it appears to be more upmarket than the Renegade with Cherokee-inspired materials and features. Jeep is claiming it will feature a "host of safety and advanced technology offerings" and even "open air freedom", but we expect the latter to mean a sunroof rather than a full convertible roof.
17 "fuel-efficient" powertrains will be offered overall in the 100 countries that the Compass will go on sale in, which should encompass several European countries including the UK. The model will be built in Jeep's new plant in Pernambuco, Brazil, and will make a more official world debut at the LA Motor Show in November.
