Yamaha launched the M-Slaz in Thailand last year. Powering the M-Slaz is the same engine that powers the much loved Yamah YZF-R15. In essence, the M-Slaz is nothing but the streetnaked version of the R15. The smallest in the MT series , the M-Slaz (MT-15) should make for an interesting addition to the entry level performance bike category in India. The bike could go on sale at price slightly more than the R15, its full faired cousin. While Yamaha Motor India hasn’t been vocal about the Yamaha M-Slaz India launch date, it was earlier speculated that the Yamaha M-Slaz launch in India will happen around this year’s festive season. The Yamaha M-Slaz has been launched in Thailand at TBH 89,500 which is around INR 1.66 lacs. The R15 Version 2.0 retails for much less than that amount. It maybe noted that the Yamaha YZF-R15 price in India is INR 1.18 Lakhs. This means that you can expect Yamaha M Slaz Price in India to be roughly Rs 1.25 lakh. As we said, not much is known about the M Slaz’s India launch as of now, but we won’t be surprised if it happens around March, 2017.
In India, the Yamaha M-Slaz will be a direct rival to the KTM Duke 200. At a price of roughly INR 1.25 Lakhs, the M-Slaz will be positioned between bikes like the Suzuki Gixxer 155 and the Mahindra Mojo 300. We believe that the M-Slaz will make for a logical upgrade from the Yamaha FZ Series that is on sale in India.

Powering the Yamaha M-Slaz is the same engine as the R15. This means that this bike is powered by a 149cc four stroke single cylinder engine mated to a 6-speed gearbox. The M-Slaz enjoys a max. power output of 16.09 BHP at 8,500 RPM and a peak torque of 14.3 Nm at 7,500 RPM. The M-Slaz has a true top speed of around 124 KMPH.
