Upcoming New Volkswagen Cars in India

Volkswagen is Europe’s largest car manufacturers and the owner of several popular car brands. However, their story in India has been quite different. While their products enjoy a fan following of sorts, sales have been much below their respective competitors. The recent launch of the Ameo has helped them increase market share and Volkswagen will be hoping to carry the momentum forward with 4-5 new launches over the next couple of years. Among them will be a replacement for the Polo hatchback, a small SUV and a couple of premium offerings. Read on for more information regarding upcoming new Volkswagen Cars in India.

Passat GTE

Volkswagen will follow in the footsteps of Honda and launch the new Passat in its hybrid avatar. However, unlike the Toyota Camry and Honda Accord, the Passat GTE is a plug in hybrid. Which means, the battery pack can either be charged through a regular power socket or the petrol engine that powers the sedan. A 1.4 L TSI petrol engine combines with the electric power for a total output of 218 hp and 400 Nm. We’re expecting the Volkswagen Passat GTE launch to take place early next year. It was present at the Auto Expo in held earlier this year in February 2016.
