Production of the BMW G310 R  is already underway at TVS’ plant. This means that the production of this bike will involve heavy localisation, which in turn should lead to a competitive price tag. The upcoming BMW bike in India will rival the likes of Benelli TNT300 and the KTM Duke 390. In terms of pricing, however, expect this bike to cost a bit more than the Katoom. The TVS BMW G310R India debut took place at the Auto Expo 2016 earlier this year. The latest to have emerged on the G310R is that it will come shod with Michelin tyres.

BMW G310R Design Review

The new G310R takes many design cues from the TVS Draken concept that we saw at the 2014 Auto Expo. This means that the upcoming Beemer looks like a typical streetnaked. From the looks of it, the G310R will offer a really aggressive riding experience. It boasts of a muscular fuel tank, which combined with the sharply-styled headlamp lends a very mean look to the bike. This particular model does not possess BMW’s signature asymmetric headlamp design, which is rare in BMW Mottard products these days. The G310R also seems to be good for stunts. This bike seems to share in plenty with the BMW Concept Stunt G310 concept motorcycle that was showcased at the Salao Duas Rodas, Brazil. None other than Chris Pfeiffer has helped in the development of BMW Concept Stunt G 310. The G310R definitely looks sharper and more muscular than the KTM 390 Duke.

BMW G310R Engine and Transmission

Powering the TVS BMW G310R is a new 313cc backward-tilted, single-cylinder, fuel-injected, water-cooled engine that comes paired to a 6-speed manual transmission. This all-new 313cc engine pumps out a max. power of 34bhp @ 9,500rpm and a peak torque of 28Nm @ 7,500rpm. TVS-BMW has claimed that this engine is inclined rearwards and its cylinder head is rotated by 180 degrees. All this has helped in optimal mounting of the engine without increasing the wheelbase. The G310R’s 313cc engine is being claimed to offer a fuel mileage of 36.05kmpl, while the top speed is claimed to be 145kmph.

BMW G310R Suspension & Brakes

From the looks of it, the upcoming BMW streetfighter motorcycle will offer spot-on ergonomics and thereby a comfortable riding posture. Suspension duties are courtesy of a set of inverted telescopic fork up front and a monoshock suspension at the rear. The BMW G310R has a kerb weight of 158.5 kgs. Built around an all-new tubular steel chassis, the upcoming BMW bike in India rides on 17-inch alloy wheels that come shod with 110/70 spec tyre at front and 150/60 spec rubber at the rear. Braking comes from a 300mm disc brake at front and a 240mm disc brake at the rear wheel. The G310R also gets dual-channel ABS.
