Fiat will celebrate 60 years of the 500 at next week’s Geneva Motor Show with the reveal of the 500 Sessantesimo - a limited, special edition version of its supermini paying tribute to the original car released in 1957.

Available only as a 500C convertible, the Sessantesimo features a new two-tone paintjob – white for the body and pastel ivory for the bonnet and pillars, separated by a coach line. A chrome trim piece is attached to the bonnet, while the wing mirrors are chromed too.

Fiat will limit the Sessantesimo to 560 units, and exclusive 560 badging is found dotted around the car’s exterior and interior. It rides on new 16-inch alloy wheels.

Ivory leather seats with contrasting burgundy seams are in the cabin, alongside dual-colour car mats and a retro vinyl dashboard. More contemporary additions include a leather multi-function steering wheel and a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Bluetooth, satellite navigation, plus Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility.

The Sessantsimo also gets rear parking sensors and automatic climate control. No prices have been revealed, but it’ll go on sale in Europe from 9 March.

Alongside the 60th anniversary 500, Fiat will reveal a new S-Design trim level for the 500X and Tipo, as well as the 124 Spider Europa, which rides on retro four-spoke alloy wheels.
