The upcoming facelift will the second since the XUV500’s launch in India. The 2017 Mahindra XUV500 facelift is likely to get styling changes and updates to the interior. Also, Mahindra might retune the 2.2 L diesel that powers the SUV to produce more power and torque. The upcoming new model Mahindra XUV500 launch will take place before the end of 2017. Mahindra will continue to offer the XUV500 with 4×4 and 6-speed automatic as options. XUV500’s chief rival, Tata Hexa, makes more power. So, Mahindra might br looking to match those figures on paper.
Mahindra has been evaluating the petrol variants of the Scorpio and XUV500 for the Indian market. The facelift could feature petrol variants as well. Mahindra has been working with SsangYong to develop a new family of petrol engines. A new engine from that lineup could power XUV500 Petrol.
