Fiat Fullback Cross posh pick-up joins the range

2017-09-07 12:30

The Fiat Fullback range is set to expand with new top-of-the-line Cross model

Fiat has released prices for a new, range-topping Fullback Cross model. Available from September this year, the Mitsubishi L200 sibling will start at £26,495, not including VAT (£31,794 including VAT) for the 6-speed manual model.

The new Cross model comes with the familiar 2.4-litre turbodiesel engine, producing 177bhp and 430Nm, seen in other models and also the Mitsubishi pickups. It meets the stringent Euro 6 standards, without the need for an SCR (selective catalytic reduction) system and AdBlue tank– the emissions reducing exhaust treatment technology engineered for diesels.

To differentiate the new model from previous Fullback editions, Fiat has included exclusive style details, such as a textured sports bar on the rear. The aesthetics have been further altered, to promote what Fiat claims is an, ‘eye-catching sporty look’, via the rear view mirrors, door handles, wheel arches, and 17-inch alloys all being finished in matte black.

Fiat has also fitted the new model with a wide range of tech. Bi-Xenon headlights with DLRs, dual-zone climate control, rear parking sensors, leather seats and a leather steering wheel. The leather seats won’t leave you wanting in the cold either, as they offer heating for the front occupants.

On top of the niceties, the Fullback remains as practical as you would expect from a pick-up. Electronic stability control, trailer stability assist, hill start assist, and four driving modes help make the truck appeal to everyone from families to caravaners. What's more, four-wheel drive is selectable , meaning fuel can be saved when extra traction is not required.

Finally, for its commercial customers, Fiat  is offering a two-year (10,000 miles per annum) business contract hire on the Fullback Cross. The manual costs £289 per month, with an initial rental of £1,734. While the auto has a modest increase, with monthly payments of £299 per month, plus an initial rental of £1,794. This offer is available from Monday 11th September for vehicles ordered by 30th September, and registered by 29th December.
