New Renault Symbioz autonomous concept teased ahead of Frankfurt

Renault Symbioz teaser

Renault has teased its vision for the year 2030 with the driverless, all-electric Symbioz concept

Renault is gearing up for this year's Frankfurt Motor Show with a future-thinking concept car called the Symbioz. Teased ahead of its unveiling next week, the new concept is designed to express the French brand's vision of mobility in years to come.

The name 'Symbioz' is said to be derived from 'sumbiōsis', the Ancient Greek word for 'living together'. With that in mind the concept will "function harmoniously and in permanent interaction with its environment, road network infrastructure and digital lifestyles of its occupants".

Precious little information is given for the Symbioz, although we know it's all-electric and capable of full autonomy. The teaser image shows the rear end of a shapely coupe-like design, though we expect it to be a proper four seater.

We'll see the full potential of the Symbioz, including what is likely to be a healthy amount of connected car technology, when the car is unveiled in Frankfurt on Tuesday 12th September.
