BMW has been firing out new models across the board lately and the firm has now added two new trims to its SUV line-up; the X5 Special Edition and X6 M Sport Edition, with both editions available in the UK from December.

Starting with the X5 Special Edition, this latest variant of the ‘sports activity vehicle’ couples the BMW M Sport package with luxury ‘Dakota’ leather trim and heated front seats. Also available as an alternative option at no extra cost is black leather upholstery with M badges embroidered around the cabin.

The BMW X5 Special Edition also comes with sun protection class and a Multifunctional Instrument Display on all models bar the xDrive40e iPerformance. The X5 Special Edition is available across the range of X5 powertrains with the exception of the M50d.

BMW’s X6 ‘sports activity coupe’ also gets a makeover with the M Sport Edition being added to the extensive range. This model is available in Long Beach blue metallic paint with carbon fibre interior trim strips, both exclusive to the M Sport Edition. Black and white metallic paint finishes are offered as alternatives at no extra cost.

The special edition X6 comes with 20-inch double-spoked light-alloy wheels with mixed-size runflat tyres as standard, with 21-inch rims available as an optional extra. As is the case with the X5, the X6 M Sport Edition is available across the range with the M50d being once again the only exception.
