The YouTube video shows the 2018 Range Rover featuring dual touchscreen navigation and plug-in hybrid performance

We've got an early glimpse of the updated Range Rover thanks to a video which has surfaced online ahead of the car's official debut.

The grainy video shows that the exterior of the new model is almost identical to that of the luxury current SUV. The interior is a different story, however, with dual touchscreen navigation system and digital dials featuring inside along with a panoramic roof.

Many of these new features were first included in the Velar. The Range Rover in the video is a long-wheelbase model in a four-seat layout with a large centre console at the back in between the two rear seats, though the standard wheelbase model will continue.

The leak comes a week after new Range Rover Sport was revealed, which features a new 101mpg plug-in hybrid powertrain. The new Range Rover will also benefit from the PHEV technology, as confirmed by JLR last month.

The new Range Rover Sport sports a 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine coupled with an electric motor to produce 398bhp and 640Nm of torque. The Range Rover will likely feature an engine of similar displacement but with less power than the Sport.

In electric-only mode, the Sport’s range is just 31 miles, and is capable of a claimed 101mpg and 64g/km of CO2. The batteries can be fully replenished from a rapid charger in under three hours.
