Royal Enfield, the popular South India-based bike manufacturer, will soon launch a new bodystyle of the Thunderbird cruiser motorcycle. To be called as the Thunderbird 500X, the new motorcycle will offer a new look courtesy of several updates to its styling. The motorcycle will, however, retain its 499cc single-cylinder BS4-compliant heart, which, in all probability, will continue to output a maximum power of 27 bhp along with a peak torque of 41.3 Nm. A new report goes on to state that the new Royal Enfield Thunderbird 500X launch is likely to happen ahead of the fast-approaching Auto Expo 2018. Also, there are really good chances that the new model would go on sale at an ex-showroom price of approx. Rs 2.1 lakh.
While the company is yet to divulge official details on the new Royal Enfield Thunderbird 500 launch date, we do feel it makes enough sense for the manufacturer to launch the new model ahead of the motor show. Some of you might remember that RE launched the Himalayan just days before the last Expo was opened to the public. Even this year, the company plans to give the motor show a miss. Hence, it’s likely to hold a high voltage event around the same time to catch the attention of media and stay in news even without participating in the upcoming Auto Expo.

The new Thunderbird 500 X looks fresher and arguably more stylish than the regular cruiser motorcycle from Royal Enfield. The new bike is available in as many as four new colours – Red, Yellow, Blue, and White. The 500X gets a dual-tone colour treatment. The new multi-spoke alloy wheels and all the cycle parts come painted in matte-black. The twin-seat arrangement has been replaced with a single seat. The side fenders get the new ‘500X’ badges.
