The 2018 Royal Enfield Thunderbird 500X has been launched in India. In its new iteration, the Thunderbird 500x comes with a number of new updates. Unlike the Thunderbird series, the Thunderbird X versions aim at attracting young buyers.

The 2018 Royal Enfield Thunderbird 500X has made its official debut in India. The Thunderbird X series bike is priced at INR 1.96 Lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The Thunderbird 350X was also launched today. The latter costs INR 1.56 Lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The 2018 500X gets a number of updates over the previous generation model. It is based on the standard Thunderbird 500. That said, Royal Enfield says that the Thunderbird X series aims at attracting young buyers rather than mature ones.

The 2018 Thunderbird 500X retails at a price of INR 1.96 lakhs. This price is ex-showroom, Delhi.

2018 Royal Enfield Thunderbird 500X: Engine Specifications

The 2018 500X is carrying forward the same engine from the older bike. It gets a 499cc, single cylinder motor. This engine can produce 27.2 BHP along with 41.3 NM of peak torque. A 5-speed manual transmission is on offer.

2018 Royal Enfield Thunderbird 500X: Mileage

The engine specifications of the 2018 500X are same as before. So is the case with the other mechanical specifications. The mileage of the 500X remains the same, around 25-27 km/l.

2018 Royal Enfield Thunderbird 500X: Features

The new 500X packs in a lot of new features. It comes with blacked out headlamps which get LED daytime running lights. The cruiser also comes with new 9-spoke alloy wheels, shorter handlebars, new single seat, matte black exhaust and suspension unit. Another interesting feature of the 500X is the blacked out, twin-pod digital-analogue instrument cluster. It gets chrome garnish around the dials. The 500X gets 41 mm telescopic front fork suspension. While at the rear it comes with five-step adjustable gas-charged suspension. The cruiser comes with 280 mm disk brakes up-front and 240 mm disk brakes at the rear. That said, the 2018 500X mises out on ABS.

2018 Royal Enfield Thunderbird 500X: Colours

The 2018 Thunderbird 500X is available in four colours. These include Whimsical White, Drifter Blue, Gateway Orange and Roving Red. Apart from the fuel tank and the highlight on the wheels, all the other components of the cruiser are coloured black. This gives the bike a sporty appeal.
