2018 Toyota Vios India Launch LIkely to Happen in April This Year
The Japanese automaker is gearing up to attack various saturated segment yet again. Toyota has been popular for creating fierce competition amongst already filled segment instead of creating new ones. The automaker’s strategy to produce the most reliable vehicles, some of which have been running for decades now, surely works wonders. One such example would be the Fortuner as the Ford Endeavour, Chevrolet Captiva had already been present in the premium SUV segment prior to the launch of the Toyota SUV, the Fortuner still sold ten folds in numbers against its competition. Toyota has released an official teaser for the upcoming 2018 Toyota Vios confirming its showcase at the Auto Expo 2018. The car in the image was spied last week at the dealer’s meet.

2018 Toyota Vios India Launch Price
The upcoming 2018 Toyota Vios, also known as Toyota Yaris Ativ in specific markets, will be showcased at the upcoming 2018 Auto Expo. The Vios sedan is slated to launch in April this year. We expect the 2018 Toyota Vios to be priced between INR 9 lakh to INR 12 lakh, ex-showroom.
Upon launch, the Toyota Vios will compete with the likes of Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, Honda City and Hyundai Verna. All three are well-established players in the segment with each collecting decent sales numbers. It will be interesting to see how Toyota fairs against the competition.
2018 Toyota Vios Specifications
Powering the 2018 Toyota Vios will be a 1.5-litre Dual VVT-i petrol motor that churns out 105 bhp of power and 140 Nm of torque. The base model will likely carry a 5-speed manual transmission while the top variant will be offered with the CVT transmission. The latter is expected to feature a dual-tone interior with black and beige upholstery.

The upcoming Toyota Vios is a mid-size sedan stretching 4,425 mm long, 1,730 mm wide and 1,475 mm tall. The Toyota Vios features a wheelbase of 2,550 mm. The international version of the upcoming sedan sits 133 mm above the ground but we expect Toyota to increase this for the India spec model.

The key features of the upcoming Toyota Vios include projector headlamps with LED daytime running lights, LED light guides, 16-inch alloy wheels, tail lamps with LED detailing, shark fin antenna, keyless entry and ignition, automatic climate control, rear armrest, rear aircon vents, touchscreen infotainment system and rear view parking camera with guidelines.
