2018 Toyota Yaris India- Price

The 2018 Toyota Yaris will be manufactured at the company’s plant in Karnataka. The automaker plans on deploying high percentage of localized parts to keep the price in check. We expect the upcoming mid-size sedan to be priced competitively with an estimated range of INR 8.4 to INR 13.7 lakh undercutting the Honda City by a healthy margin. The Honda City ranges between INR 8.7 to INR 13.7 lakh ex-showroom.

2018 Toyota Yaris India- Engine

Powering the upcoming 2018 Toyota Yaris will be the 1.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine. Initially, the Yaris will be offered with the petrol option only. The 1.5-litre unit powering the Yaris will produce 108 bhp of power and 137 Nm of torque. This engine was recently introduced on the Yaris internationally which otherwise used to derive its power from a 1.3-litre engine. The engine will be offered with a 6-speed manual transmission and a 7-step CVT transmission.

2018 Toyota Yaris India- Dimensions

Comparing the 2018 Toyota Yaris to its competitors, the Honda City, Hyundai Verna and the Maruti Ciaz, the Yaris falls short in length from almost all of its rivals except the Verna. The City extends to 4,440mm, Ciaz features a length of 4,490 mm and the Verna gets 4,370 mm. The Toyota Yaris holds a length of 4,425 which is clearly shorter than most of its rivals. When it comes to the wheelbase, the City features 2,600 mm, Ciaz gets 2,650 and the Verna gets 2,570. The Yaris features a wheelbase of 2,550 mm which is the shortest in the segment. While the Verna is shorter in length, it surprisingly offers better wheelbase than the Yaris. In terms of width though, the Yaris is neck to neck with its rivals holding a width of 1,730 mm, similar to that of the Ciaz. Considering the numbers discussed above, the Toyota Yaris features spacious enough interiors although you might find the rear bench best suited for just 2 adults as with 3 it gets a little cramped.

2018 Toyota Yaris – Safety

Toyota has been known for its build quality and reliability. The automaker is also famous for adopting the latest safety features to ensure the safety of its passengers. Yaris here is no exception as it features various segment first safety features. Starting with the all wheel disc brakes to the seven airbags including the driver knee airbag the Yaris sure doesn’t disappoint in the safety department. Other safety features offered on the mid-size sedan are hill start assist, ABS with EBD and ESP. In the recent crash test done by ASEAN NCAP, the Toyota Yaris scored full 5 stars, reassuring its customers are the safest in their vehicles.

2018 Toyota Yaris India- Features

Last but not the least, the Toyota Yaris comes loaded with features to compete with other players in the segment. While others in the segment focus on adding more bling to their vehicles, Toyota offers a more practical approach. The 2018 Toyota Yaris offers gesture control for the infotainment system, tyre pressure monitoring system, 60:40 split rear seat, adjustable neck restraints for the rear passengers, roof mounted air-con vents with ambient lighting, power adjustable driver seat and front parking sensors.

Hope this list will provide you with a detailed insight into the upcoming 2018 Toyota Yaris and will let you decide which is the best mid-size sedan for you. Stay tuned for more info on upcoming Toyota cars.
