British coachbuilder David Brown Automotive promises that its most performance focused car ever will be revealed next month

A new car from David Brown Automotive is heading to the Geneva Motor Show, which the British coachbuilder says is its most performance-focused model ever.

Billed as a new grand tourer to follow in the footsteps of the Aston Martin DB5 aping Speedback GT, the company has yet to hint at just what historic model the new GT car could take inspiration from, but it's highly likely to be another classic brought into the 21st century.

The teaser image only provides us with a glimpse of its badge, but a more ‘aggressive design language’ is promised. To be hand built at David Brown’s Silverstone headquarters, the firm says that the new model will ‘absorb the location’s famous racing and aeronautical heritage into the car’s high-octane pedigree’.

“This is something that we’ve been looking forward to doing since launching Speedback GT and I can’t wait to reveal more,” said David Brown, company founder and CEO. “With its unprecedented levels of performance, this vehicle allows the David Brown Automotive brand to appeal to our existing customers, and new customers alike. The car brings yet another exciting opportunity for our company.”

The plan to build a high-performance model swings against David Brown’s latest model, the Mini Remastered, which still wore a hefty £99,000 price tag for the example we drove last year, powered by a 94bhp version of that car’s classic 1,275cc four-cylinder engine.
