Hero Maestro Edge 125 i3S Debuts At Auto Expo 2018

Hero Motorcorp has unveiled the Hero Maestro Edge 125 i3S at the Auto Expo 2018. The new scooter comes with improved design and a larger 125 CC engine compared to the ongoing Maestro Edge which is a 110 CC engined scooter. The scooter gets a masculine design with large wheels, telescopic front suspension, attractive alloy wheels and large reflector headlamps.

The size of the seat is quite large for a comfortable ride. The seating position is well thought of and the leg room is also ample. This scooter will be comfortable for tall people as well.

It has many attractive design elements like blackened exhaust, blackened grab rails which are large on the side. There is also a styling and the rather large in size rear tail lamp cluster which has in-built turn indicators.

Hero Maestro Edge 125 i3S Automatic Start-Stop Feature

The intelligent i3S start-stop system which was only offered in select motorcycles of Hero Motocorp has also been added to the Hero Maestro Edge 125 CC variant. The new scooter offers the i3S which will turn off the engine automatically at the traffic signal if the scooter is not moving for a certain amount of time. This ensures fuel saving as the engine idling time is reduced. When the signal turns green and the user turns the accelerator, the engine will be restarted without the need to press the engine start switch. This ensures smooth operation and automatic turn-on and turn-off of the engine on the need basis to save fuel. This, in turn, increases the fuel efficiency. You can expect an improvement in fuel economy by around 5-10% in city driving conditions (with start-stop traffic conditions).

The instrument cluster is a digital+analogue combination. The meter also has a side stand indicator and service reminder.

There is also a USB charging port inside the boot compartment of the scooter for the convenience of the riders.

Engine and Performance

In terms of engine, it uses a 125cc single cylinder petrol engine that delivers 8.7 BHP of peak power and 10.2 Nm of peak torque. The expected fuel economy is around 45 KMPL.

Price and Availability

The Hero Maestro Edge 125 i3S will be priced between Rs. 55,000 to Rs. 60,000 price bracket and is expected to hit the roads in the calendar year 2018.
