The 2018 Honda CR-V is likely to get a 120 BHP diesel engine when it debuts in India. It is going to be the first time that this SUV is offered with an oil-burner.
We saw the first glimpse of the 2018 Honda CR-V at the Auto Expo this year. There, amidst the debut of the new Honda Amaze, the Japanese automaker confirmed the launch of this premium SUV in India. Honda says that it will launch the new CR-V in India by the end of the fiscal year 2018-19. Not only this, for the first time, the CR-V will come with a diesel engine. In the international markets, the Honda CR-V comes with a 160 BHP, 1.6-litre twin-turbocharged diesel engine. In India, the SUV will get the same engine but with a single turbo and 120 BHP at its disposal.
2018 Honda CR-V Launch Date
Honda is yet to finalise a specific launch date for the new CR-V in India. However, it said at the Auto Expo that the seven-seater SUV will reach Indian Shores before the end of the 2018-19 fiscal.

2018 Honda CR-V Price
The Honda CR-V is a seven-seater premium SUV. This will put its price close to the mark of INR 30 Lakh. Honda is likely to keep variants to the minimum. As a result of this, the base petrol trim will cost around INR 27 Lakh. However, the top end diesel trim will cost INR 30 Lakh. Prices are ex-showroom.
2018 Honda CR-V Engine Specifications
As mentioned, the diesel derivative of the 2018 CR-V will get a 1.6-litre motor. This engine is capable of churning out 120 BHP of power along with 300 NM of peak torque. Other than this, the SUV comes with a petrol engine as well. This motor produces close to 184 BHP of power. A 6-speed manual gearbox is offered as standard across the range. The diesel engine will get a 9-speed automatic unit. On the other hand, the petrol motor gets a CVT automatic unit.

2018 Honda CR-V Exterior and Interior
The new Honda CR-V’s exterior profile is quite similar to the previous generation model. This does not mean that the design looks outdated. Honda has made the design of the new CR-V very sharp and sleek. The nose of the car is quite aggressive, thanks to the sleeker headlamps and the thick chrome panel. On the inside, the CR-V feels very plush. High-quality materials are used and the seats designed to offer superior comfort.

The new CR-V will offer features like a TFT LCD instrument cluster. The centre console features a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system that offers navigation facility Not only this, but it also comes with Apple Car Play and Android Auto connectivity. The SUV also offers automatic climate control, heated seats which are electrically adjustable among the others.

2018 Honda CR-V Competition
Due to its premium price tag, the CR-V will compete against the likes of Ford Endeavour and Toyota Fortuner.
