The internet was flooded with reports when Mahindra acquired Jawa Motorcycles a few months back. Brand loyalists rejoiced as Mahindra announced the revival of the brand. New reports have come in as he Yezdi nears production.
Mahindra Two-Wheelers is working hard to gain a substantial market share. The company has released several competent products overtime but failed to impress due to certain reasons. The Mojo, for instance, is a great product and one of the best in its segment but failed to penetrate after the initial hype. While the service network is to blame, the poor marketing strategy is equally responsible. With the acquisition of Jawa and BSA a few months back, Mahindra Two-Wheelers is all set to set the Indian two-wheeler market on fire. Will it work, let’s find out.
Mahindra Jawa Yezdi – Launch Date
Mahindra Two-Wheelers is all set to reincarnate the Jawa Yezdi in India. Will the upcoming bike still carry the Yezdi brand name is not official but quite certain. The upcoming Mahindra Jawa Yezdi is slated to launch in late 2018 or early 2019. We believe, since Royal Enfield will be launching their 650 twins this year, the Yezdi might follow soon.

Mahindra Jawa Yezdi – Launch Price
The upcoming Mahindra Jawa Yezdi will rival Royal Enfield Classic 350 directly. The new bike will be launched at a competitive price to pull more customers. Mahindra Jawa Yezdi – Engine & Mileage
New reports on the web suggest that the Mahindra Jawa Yezdi is nearing its launch. A report by Autocar Professional claims that Mahindra will deploy the Mojo’s 300cc engine in the upcoming Jawa bike. The automaker claims that a manufacturer can’t design new engines every year. This takes up a large amount of investment and the cost takes several years to return. For the same reason, automakers develop scalable engine platforms to be used in multiple models with slight changes. Mahindra Two-Wheelers is following the same procedure and will share the Mojo’s engine in the upcoming Mahindra Jawa Yezdi. This will eventually help the automaker saving a huge sum of money and in-turn allowing the bike to be priced competitively.
The Mojo’s 300cc engine will be returned for use in Jawa bikes and might even come with a carburettor initially. You can expect the upcoming Jawa bikes to return a mileage of around 35 kmpl in the Indian driving cycle.
Stay tuned for more updates on upcoming Mahindra Jawa bikes.
