Bajaj Dominar 400 Non-ABS Variant Discontinued From India

Due to a substantial lack of demand, the non-ABS variant of the Bajaj Dominar 400 is now discontinued from India. This somewhat indicates that Indian buyers do not want low cost, un-safe automobiles.

Bajaj Auto has discontinued the non-ABS variant of the Dominar 400 from India. The bike manufacturer was seeing a drastic drop in demand for the non-ABS variant. About 80 percent buyers of the Bajaj Dominar 400 choose the ABS variant. Due to this substantially low demand, Bajaj decided to take this step.

Bajaj Dominar 400

The Bajaj Dominar 400 is the most powerful bike from the manufacturer in India. The Dominar promises to offer a good ride both on the highways and in the city. The Dominar 400 uses the same engine which comes in the KTM 390 Duke. This single cylinder, 373 cc engine produces 34.5 BHP along with 35 Nm of peak torque.

Apart from selling the Dominar in India, Bajaj also exports it to other international markets. These include the likes of South East Asia and Latin American countries. In India, the bike manufacturer sells this bike as a power cruiser. The Dominar 400 is responsible for starting a new era for Bajaj in India. The two-wheeler soon rose to popularity. One of the major reasons for this bikes’ success was its value for money proposition.

The Bajaj Dominar 400 comes with a dual-channel ABS. It is priced at INR 1.56 Lakh (ex-showroom). This bike primarily competes against the likes of Royal Enfield motorcycles.

Bajaj initially had a target of selling 10,000 units of the Dominar 400 every month. However, currently, the bike manufacturer sells only 1,500 units per month. That said, the Dominar gets a better equipment list than its chief competitor, the RE Classic 350.

It comes with features like disk brake both at the front and the rear. The Dominar 400 gets 17-inch alloy wheel with tubeless tyres. The bikes measure 2156 mm in length, 813 mm in width and 1112 mm in height. The power cruiser comes with Full LED headlamps and LED tail-lamps.
