Jaguar's glitzy reveal of the all-new I-Pace EV in production form is under way, but away from the main event the British carmaker has released a new video demonstrating it winning a drag race with a Tesla Model X.
The two all-electric SUVs go head-to-head at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez ePrix circuit in Mexico City, ahead of the Formula E race this weekend. Both a 75D and 100D version of the Model X are used in the race, which sees the EVs go from 0-60mph and then brake as hard as they can back to a standstill.

The I-Pace is driven by Panasonic Jaguar Racing's Mitch Evans, while the Teslas have former IndyCar champion Tony Kanaan behind the wheel.
The I-Pace's official 0-60mph time is 4.5 seconds, with a 298-mile range on the WLTP cycle. Tesla claims the Model X can do the sprint in 4.9 seconds, with an EPA range rating of 242 miles.
The I-Pace is on sale now priced from £63,495, including government incentives. The Model X in 75D form costs £76,500, while the 100D is more than double that of the I-Pace at £132,500.
