Recently, 2018 Mahindra XUV 500 facelift was launched with notable upgrades. The new XUV500 brings with it changes to the exterior and interior along with a powerful engine producing increased outputs. Here we have compared the new Facelift XUV 500 with the old model.

The 2018 Facelift version of Mahindra XUV 500 comes with more power and added features. The new model is available in 5 diesel variants – W5, W7, W9, W11 and W11 OPT and one petrol variant – G AT. The prices of the current model are starting from Rs 12.38 Lakh (ex-showroom). Here, we have compared what all elements and features that have changed between the facelift version and the old model.

In the front, Mahindra XUV 500 gets a deeper chrome finish grille with updated headlamps. The headlamps come in shape of horizontal LED strips unlike the S-shape units in the old model. The rear body of the car is a little uplifted than the earlier model and comes with a wedge cut LED tail lights. Also, it gets a bigger space for the license plate now. The tailgate gets a new design with a new sportier rear spoiler.

2018 Mahindra XUV 500 Facelift Vs Older Model Interiors:

The new Mahindra XUV 500 gets a full black treatment in the interiors. It gets soft-touch black leather finishing on the dashboard. It also gets new tan leather upholstery, silver coloured gear knobs and handbrakes, and piano black coloured centre control system with golden trim along the edges.

2018 Mahindra XUV 500 Facelift Vs Older Model Features:

The car continues with a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with GPS navigation, voice commands, SMS readout and Android Auto along with SmartWatch connectivity. Except for the base W5 variant, automatic climate control is available on all variants. Other features include engine start/stop button, automatic headlamps, sunroof, rain sensing wipers, cruise control and brake energy regeneration among others. Also, the SUV continues with halogen projectors and LED DRLs. In terms of safety, the XUV 500 offers 6 airbags, electronic stability program (ESP), ABS with EBD, hill hold and hill descent control and an emergency call feature.

2018 Mahindra XUV 500 Facelift Vs Older Model Engine: 

The new Mahindra XUV 500 gets the same 2.2 L mHawk petrol engine that produces 140 BHP power and 320 Nm torque. However, the diesel variant gets a power upgrade and produces now 155 BHP worth power and 360 Nm worth torque. So, the power figures have increased by 15 BHP and torque has increased by 30 Nm. The highest variant, W11 gets an optional AWD feature. However, the base variant – W5 – gets only the 6-speed manual transmission.

The new Mahindra XUV 500 is available in 12 variants. The prices start from Rs 12.32 Lakhs to Rs 18.98 Lakhs (ex-showroom).
