Ford Freestyle Launched In India- Prices Starting From Rs 5.09 Lakh

After the excitement for a new crossover Compact Utility Vehicle, Ford Freestyle was launched with prices starting from Rs 5.09 Lakh to Rs 7.89 Lakh (ex-showroom). The car will be available in four variants with an option of petrol and diesel.

The Ford Freestyle was launched in India starting from Rs 5.09 Lakh. The car will come in four variants – Ambiente, Trend, Titanium and Titanium+ – with an option of petrol or diesel. Freestyle will compete with the likes of Honda W-RV, Toyota Etios Cross, Hyundai i20 Active and Volkswagen Polo Cross. As most of them are placed in the Rs 5 Lakhs – Rs 9 Lakhs segment, the competition will be tough.

Freestyle gets a new 1.2-litre three-cylinder Dragon Petrol engine that produces 96hp and 120Nm of peak torque, making it the most powerful petrol engine in its segment. On the other hand, continues with Ford’s 1.5-litre, four-cylinder TDCi Diesel engine that produces 100hp and 215Nm of peak torque. Both engines are mated to a new Getrag-sourced five-speed manual gearbox. According to Ford, the new gearbox is more refined and would save 40 percent of the gear oil used.

Dual Front Air Bags, ABS with EBD, speed sense loc, reverse parking sensors and anti-theft alarm are the standard features. In the top-end variant, Ford Freestyle comes with heavy features such as six airbags, electronic stability programme (ESP), Hill launch assist, traction control system (TCS) and front and rear fog lamps. In the interiors, it gets a floating 6.5-inch touch infotainment system. The SYNC 3 infotainment system on the Titanium+ trim provides emergency assistance. The interiors of the car come with black and chocolate brown coloured theme.

Freestyle has its ride height increased by 16mm to 190mm and gets larger 15-inch alloys. The CUV also gets body cladding, skid plates and functional roof rails. However, it misses out on elements such as LED DRLs and more. On the other hand, elements such as blacked out high contrast on the front bumper, sweptback headlamps, fog lamp bezel and black alloys add more to its sporty appearance.
