Premium French carmaker DS has a mysterious concept car in the pipeline, as previewed by these two teaser images.
The shot of the swollen wheel arch and large alloy wheel gives little away but in a video posted on Instagram by the company’s head of design Thierry Metroz, a ‘DS Performance’ badge can be picked out.
Along with the images, Metroz also hints that the concept will be a fully electric vehicle with a focus on performance. It’s understood that this concept will preview the brand’s future technology and design language, rather than a future production vehicle.
More details and information on the concept are expected to follow at the 2018 Beijing Motor Show at the end of April. DS has cited China as one of its most important new car markets given the region’s appetite for electric vehicles so the reveal of the concept car at one of the country’s premier car shows makes sense.
The last time DS launched a concept vehicle was in 2015 with the E-Tense electric coupe. Since then the DS 7 Crossback SUV has been launched, but other than that product news from DS has been a little thin on the ground.
