The Toyota Yaris is going to come only with a petrol engine in India. It will get 7-airbags as standard across the range. Also comes with a CVT gearbox, right from the base variant onwards. Prices revealed ahead of the official launch in May 2018.

We also know that going by our initial impressions of the car, it looks to be a very potent product. With its features and specifications, it does have the capability to take on the current segment leaders like the Maruti Ciaz and the Honda City. Now, ahead of this sedan much-anticipated debut, Toyota has revealed the official prices of the Yaris in India on its website. The base manual variant of the Toyota Yaris is going to retail at a price of INR 8.75 Lakh. While the top-of-the-line CVT automatic variant will cost INR 14.07 lakh (ex-showroom).

The prices of the Toyota Yaris start from INR 8.75 lakh and go all the way up to INR 14.07 lakh for the top-spec variant. In comparison, the prices for the petrol derivative of the Maruti Ciaz start from INR 7.83 lakh and go up to INR 10.63 lakh. On the other hand, the petrol derivative of the Honda City starts at a base price of INR 8.71 Lakh and go up to INR 12.75 Lakh for the top-spec trim.

Toyota Yaris Launch
The Toyota Yaris is likely to launch in India during the month of May this year. The Japanese automaker is bound to have high hopes for this product in India. Toyota’s earlier attempt with the Etios did not work out that well. The latter lacked in several parameters in comparison to its competition. With the Yaris however, things look quite different and promising. The sedan looks very smart and premium, while it also boasts of a decent cabin that comes equipped with a host of features.

Toyota Yaris Booking Details
At the 2018 Auto Expo, Toyota said that the bookings for the Yaris sedan will commence from the month of April 2018. However, according to recent media reports, dealers in select cities are already taking pre-orders for this vehicle. The amount for this is set at INR 50,000.
Toyota Yaris: A Quick Glance
The Toyota Yaris comes with a simple yet elegant exterior profile. From the front, one can easily make out the resemblance this sedan has with its elder sibling Corolla. The cabin of the Toyota Yaris is very premium. The dashboard layout is quite smart and offers a host of driver-friendly features. The car gets several chrome accents which add to the up-market aura.

The feature list includes projector headlamps, LED daytime running lights, a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, automatic climate control to name a few. On the safety front, the Yaris comes with SRS airbags, ABS with EBD, ISOFIX child seat mounts, hill-assist along with vehicle stability control.
Initially, the Toyota Yaris will get only a petrol derivative. This is a 1.5-litre, four-cylinder unit. It produces 108 BHP of power along with 137 NM of peak torque. The Yaris is going to come with a 6-speed manual transmission. A 7-Step CVT automatic gearbox will be offered as well.

Finally to the prices, the Yaris is likely to fall in-between the range of INR 8.5 Lakh to INR 13.7 Lakh. This will put the car right against the likes of Maruti Ciaz, Honda City and the Hyundai Verna.
