Finally an affordable Electric Vehicle is going to enter the Indian markets. Tata showcased its Tiago EV at the Auto Expo 2018 and is set to hit the roads by September 2018. The EV will be powered by a 3 AC motor producing power worth 40 BHP and 200 Nm worth torque. The top speed of the car will be around 135 KMPH with a driving range of 130 Kms. The EV can be charged in 6 hours using a standard charger. There is also an option of fast charger which charges the car to 80% in 90 minutes. It will be loaded with features like LED projector headlamps, Parking and reverse sensors, automatic climate control and ABS.

Finally, the locale hatchback of 2000’s is coming back to India. Recently, the new Hyundai Santro was spied testing in India. Photos show that it still carries the look of its previous version but with a bigger cabin space. Santro will be another entry-level car like Eon and would be replacing i10. The exact details specifications haven’t been announced yet but is speculated that the car will carry an 800 CC 1.0 Litre engine producing 69 PS power and 95 Nm torque. It would be mostly available in petrol variant and would give features like airbags, touch infotainment system, Halogen lamps and more.

Ford Freestyle was unveiled recently as it copies the looks of Figo but has an upgraded engine and style making it a new car. With proper modern urban looks, it competes with Maruti Suzuki Celerio, Ignis, Fiat Punto Cross and Toyota Etios Cross. The petrol variant runs on 1.2-litre 1194 CC engine producing 95 bhp and 120 Nm of peak torque. The diesel variant runs on Ecosport’s 1.5 Litre 1498 CC engine producing 99 bhp of power and 215 Nm of peak torque. Interiors of the car come with a floating infotainment display, borrowed from the EcoSport. The car gets smartphone integration in the form of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Coming to comfort and convenience, the Freestyle comes with features like keyless entry, push-button start, height adjustable driver seat, automatic climate control, and Ford MyKey. Interestingly, Freestyle also offers rain-sensing wipers and automatic headlamps.

Maruti Suzuki WagonR is one of the top selling hatchbacks in India with decent pricing and spacious interiors. Currently, the third generation of Wagon R is available, which will be replaced by 4th Generation Wagon R. The tall hatchback comes with a different shape and whole lot of upgraded features. In the Japanese market, it is already available for sale. The car, when launched in India, will continue with its 1.0 Litre 998 CC engine producing 67 BHP of power and 98 Nm worth torque. The car will be based on Maruti Suzuki’s latest HEARTECT Platform, which is used for the new Swift and Dzire. The mileage isn’t confirmed yet but is estimated to cross the figure that current Wagon R offers. The Japan version of the car comes with top end features but the status of Indian version is not yet confirmed.

Ford is going to launch the new Ford Figo 2018 Facelift version, which has already been launched in the European markets by the name KA+. The photos are put online and is bound to reach India soon. The car will be powered by a 1.2 Litre Engine from the Dragon Series. The engine will develop 96 PS worth power and 125 Nm worth torque. It will be available in both petrol and diesel variants. The Ka+ gets features like automatic headlamps, rain-sensing wipers, a push-button start, a heated windscreen, heated front seats, automatic climate control and a powered tailgate. However, the India-bound facelift is likely to miss out on a whole lot of features offered in the European version.

Tata Motors recently showcased Tiago JTP at the Auto Expo 2018. JTP stands for ‘Jayem Tata Performance’ after it tied up with Coimbatore based Jayem Auto for building this. It gets an engine upgrade to 1.2-litre turbocharged three-cylinder petrol engine similar to Tata Nexon. The car will produce 109 BHP worth power and 150 Nm of peak torque, giving it a significant bump over the current output. Plus it gets sporty looks with added air intakes and classy interiors with upholstering leather seats and 8 speakers Harman Kardon audio system and more. In terms of cabin space, the car remains the same.
