For Bajaj Auto, the Dominar 400 has been a success. It is a power cruiser that wins over many of the cruiser bikes in that segment. Also, there have been some speculations regarding Bajaj Dominar 200 in the offing. The Dominar 200 is expected to launch in this year with a price tag of around Rs 1.1 Lakh (ex-showroom).
Bajaj Dominar 400 takes the template of Ducati Diavel and the idea of using it to make a smaller bike has worked wonders. However, Bajaj had more help than just in the design department. All it had to was to make the motor more civilised for daily use. The Dominar 200 is a different beast in that respect. It is likely to get the same body but with lesser features and specifications than its older sibling. Can it be as successful as the Dominar 400? Let’s find out by taking a look at Bajaj Dominar 200 price, specifications, features and other details. Do keep in mind that Dominar 200 launch may take place in second half 2018 at a price of Rs 1,10,000.

The Bajaj Dominar 200 will make use of the same engine as the Pulsar RS 200 (derived from KTM 200 Duke/RC 200). Also, it will be detuned a bit in the Dominar application. To keep costs in check, we think the Dominar 200 will come with a single-channel ABS unit.
Bajaj Dominar 200 Launch Date
Launch Date | Second Half 2018 |
While we think the Bajaj Dominar 200 will come to the market in Second half 2018. This is because the Dominar look quite striking (more on this later) and in concept form, it attracted many eyeballs at previous auto expos.

Bajaj Dominar 200 Specifications
Engine displacement and type | 200cc, fuel-injected, liquid-cooled, SOHC, single cylinder |
Power | 21PS |
Torque | 16Nm |
Transmission | 6-speed |
Suspension (front/rear) | Telescopic forks/Nitrox monoshock |
Brakes (front/rear) | Single 300mm disc with ABS/Single 230mm disc |
Like we said earlier, the Bajaj Dominar 200’s specs will be similar to those of Pulsar RS 200. The difference arises in power and torque figures, which are on the lower side for the smaller Dominar. However, the rest of the components should stay the same. Another thing to note here is that Dominar 200 will have retuned suspension. Expect its gear ratios to also be redone.

Bajaj Dominar 200 Mileage
City Mileage | 36 kmpl |
Highway Mileage | 40 kmpl |
Having a detuned engine in comparison to Pulsar RS 200 means the Dominar 200 will offer better mileage. However, don’t expect it to offer way better mileage over its Pulsar counterpart. This is because the Pulsar RS 200 has a full fairing to help it in aerodynamics department. The Dominar 200? Well, let’s just wish the wind blast is manageable at highway speeds on this bike.
Bajaj Dominar 200 Top Speed
Top Speed | 130 kmph |
In its detuned state, the 200cc engine of Bajaj Dominar 200 should be able to push it to a top speed of 130kmph. Again, the lack of a fairing hurt this bike’s chances of doing higher speeds. The engine’s detuned state is of no help to the bike in this department either.

Bajaj Dominar 200 Design Review
The elder sibling of the Bajaj Dominar 200, the Dominar 400, has a universally-likeable design. Bajaj touts this design to be inspired by a lion’s stance. The fact is that this bike looks well-proportioned. Since wires have been hidden well, the exposed bits like engine look clean on this bike. Expect the Dominar 200 to look similar to maintain that familiarity, in terms of design, with its elder sibling. We do think that Bajaj will give it different alloy wheels to ensure it can be differentiated from its elder brother with ease. Also, it may not have LED DRLs to keep costs down. For this very reason, Bajaj may use projector headlamps (Pulsar 220) on Dominar 200 than LED headlamps from Dominar 400.
