Mahindra XUV 700 India Launch, Price, Features, Specifications And Mileage- Complete Details

Codenamed as Y400, the Mahindra XUV 700 is expected to launch in India within this fiscal year. It will take up the place as the flagship offering from Mahindra in India. This SUV is based on the 2018 SsangYong Rexton. However, it is going to have classic Mahindra styling cues.

Mahindra and Mahindra, the leading utility manufacturer in India are expected to introduce an all-new product in its model line this fiscal year. Codenamed the Y400, this new SUV is going to take up the place as the flagship offering from the homegrown automaker for our country. Likely to be called the XUV700, this new SUV is going to share the underpinnings of the SsangYong Rexton. That said, Mahindra has announced that when launched in India, the XUV700 will have its traditional styling cues. The Y400 is going to be a premium offering and will have all the bells and whistles in terms of features and creature comforts. Expect a price of INR 20 lakh for the base variant. With prices going up to INR 25 lakh for the top of the line trim. Consequently, it is going to compete against the likes of Hyundai Tucson, along with the Ford Endeavour and Toyota Fortner.

Underpinning the 2018 Mahindra XUV 700 is a new body-on-frame chassis that comes from Ssangyong. The traditional construction should improve the ruggedness of the upcoming SUV. Images show that the new SUV borrows in plenty from the design study. Design elements like a bold shoulder-line and flared wheel arches give this model a really aggressive stance. The XUV 700 is likely to have a long wheelbase of 2,865 mm, which should translate to generous leg space. The upcoming SUV boasts of many modern safety and connectivity features. Powering the XUV700 will be a 2.2-litre, 4-cylinder, Turbo Diesle engine that is likely to come mated to 6-speed Manual and 7-speed Automatic transmissions.

On the inside, the new SUV could feature a slightly different steering wheel design and different colour scheme. The 2018 SsangYong Rexton is based on the LIV-2 Concept that was on display at the 2016 Paris Motor Show. Much of the design stays true to the concept with the exception of the front grille and bumper, headlamps and alloy wheel design. The upcoming SUV from Mahindra-SsangYong will feature three rows of seats offering to seat for 6-7 occupants.
