2018 Suzuki Gixxer Design Review
The bike gets a fully faired naked design, copying some of its elements from its elder siblings. It definitely looks stylish and sporty, owing to its sharp muscle lines. In the front, it gets a large headlamp on the front cowl flanked by turn indicators on the side. It gets spiral alloy wheels with disc brakes in the front. As the bike gets a dual tone treatment, the engine and the rear body get sparkle black colour treatment. On the body, there is a ‘Gixxer’ decal on the side of the fuel tank. It uses a fully digital LCD instrument panel sitting on the cowl. The exhaust muffler is a catchy element. It features a dual-exhaust type muffler on the side. In the rear, it gets a disc brake. It gets LED taillights flanked by the turn indicators. Also, the bike gets comfortable step-up seats.

Powering the bike is the same 154.9cc, single-cylinder SOHC engine that powers its other bikes, the Gixxer SF and Intruder 150. It outputs a max. power of 14.5 BHP at 8,000 RPM and a peak torque of 14 Nm at 6,000 RPM. Power is sent to the rear wheel via a 5-speed Manual Transmission. Front Disc brakes come as standard with options of Rear Disc brakes and ABS. It the front it uses telescopic fork suspension and in the rear, it uses 7-step adjustable Monoshocks.

2018 Suzuki Gixxer Competition
150-160cc bikes segment is an ideal one. While most of the youth, working class as well as older generation, prefer this segment. Mainly, because of decent features offered and priced under Rs 1 Lakh, most of them prefer it. Currently, it faces competition mainly from TVS Apache RTR 1604V, Honda CB Hornet 160R, Yamaha FZ-S and Bajaj Pulsar NS160.
Apache offers some good features with better riding quality, however, it misses out on the ABS. Both of them are priced nearly and except ABS, have no much differences in the features list. CB Hornet 160R looks a bit bulky and dull, but it also offers ABS on its list. Also, it gets the Honda name added to it. FZ-S misses out on a lot of features but offers good riding quality and the Yamaha’s acceleration. The last contender, Pulsar NS160, also misses out on a lot of features and does not offer ABS too. But Bajaj’s grunty yet frugal engine and better mileage save the day.
