It is called the Honda Navi bike but features Activa’s 110cc engine. It is Honda’s offering for India, whereas, in Europe, similar looking Hero Grom is sold. The Navi gets a whole new design, which was unseen in India. Some might say that it looks similar to the Yezdi Roadking. It features a 110cc air-cooled engine. The scooter is all practical and easy in the overgrowing metro cities. It gets a low riding stance with, what looks like, a limited seating space. Honda managed to create a lot of buzz on its future product line-up by unveiling the Navi crossover at the Auto Expo 2016. The new Honda NAVI range has been priced at INR 39,500 (ex-showroom). The latest to have emerged on the Honda Navi is that its manufacturer has decided to double this two-wheeler’s production capacity. HMSI will now produce up to 1,00,000 units of the Navi per year. Elaborating on the origin of NAVI and how this fun revolution will change the way India rides on two-wheels, Mr. Yadvinder Singh Guleria, Senior Vice President – Sales & Marketing, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt. Ltd, said: “With India having the world’s youngest population, it is imperative for Brand Honda to connect with the youth. NAVI will take forward Honda’s Fun DNA in India. From business point of view, almost 70% of 2wheelers sold in the country today have engine displacement upto 110cc. However most of the models here, irrespective of their segment – Motorcycle or Scooter – are lookalike without much differentiation in specs or features. Considering the potential & moving away from the Syndrome of Sameness, Honda R&D India challenged to create “New additional Value for India” – NAVI.”
It may be noted the Navi has been among the top 10 highest-selling two-wheelers in India. This is indicative of the two-wheeler’s popularity in India, which has led Honda to increase it’s production capacity. Under the Navi moniker, Honda showcased 3 possibilities at the Expo – NAVI street, NAVI adventure & NAVI off-road at the Auto Expo 2016. This scooter could spawn a group of new Honda motorcycles in India that will combine the qualities of a scooter and a motorcycle while maintaining simplicity in its design. HMSI says that the NAVI’s objective is – Mechanical & Clean.

Honda Navi Design and Styling
The Navi is nothing like anything we have seen from any manufacturers in India till now. It is a mix between a bike and scooter and provides a plethora of customization options to the owners. The standard NAVI comes in 5 colour options – Patriot Red, Hopper Green, Shasta White, Sparky Orange and Black. The scooter has been completely engineered and designed in India. There are also plenty of customization options on offer such as the one pictured below.
Honda Navi Specifications
Navi is powered by a 110cc single-cylinder engine that is both high on fuel mileage and fun to drive quotient. It comes mated to an automatic CVT. The engine produces 7.83 BHP worth of power and 8.96 Nm worth of torque. It has recorded a top speed of 81 Km/hr. It weighs around 100 Kgs, which is quite light. In the front, the scooter uses telescopic suspension and in the back, it uses spring loaded hydraulic suspension.

Honda Navi Mileage
As we just said, the Navi shares its motor and transmission with the very popular Activa automatic scooter. This means, akin to the Activa, the Navi too should return a healthy real-world fuel mileage of roughly 45-50 kmpl. The claimed mileage of the scooter is at par with most other 110 cc scooters on sale in India.
