The 2018 iteration of the Maruti Ertiga made its global debut at the Indonesia Auto Show recently. This budget MPV gets the major alteration in all departments with this second generation update. It now looks quite a lot more mature, premium and comes with its own unique identity. The new Ertiga uses the Suzuki’s new lightweight platform HEARTECT and hence is safer and fuel-efficient than before. 2018 Maruti Ertiga Launch Date
As mentioned earlier, we believe that Maruti will launch the new Ertiga during the month of August this year. The automaker is rigorously testing this MPV in India. When launched, it will compete in the budget compact MPV segment. Honestly, we were expecting to see the generation update of this vehicle at the 2018 Auto Expo. However, it seems that the show’s limelight was reserved for the 2018 Swift.

As far as the engine specifications are concerned, the 2018 Ertiga will retain the current model’s power units. The petrol derivative will get the K-Series 1.4-litre engine. This engine produces 91 BHP along with 130 Nm of peak torque. The diesel derivative is going to come with the Fiat sourced 1.3-litre DDiS oil-burner. This engine’s power output stands at 88 BHP while it produces a torque of 200 Nm. Along with the 5-speed manual gearbox, Maruti will also introduce an AMT gearbox in this vehicle.

2018 Maruti Ertiga Mileage
Since the 2018 Ertiga is going to get a lighter platform, we are expecting the fuel-efficiency figures to improve as well. The petrol derivative is likely to give a mileage of around 21km/l. While the mileage for the diesel derivative could be around the mark of 27 km/l.

According to recent media reports, the cabin layout of the 2018 Ertiga is going to take its inspiration from the new Dzire. This means that it will get a very modern and sleek dashboard design. In addition to this, it will get a dual-tone colour scheme of black and beige. Also, the interiors are going to get faux wood inserts to increase its overall appeal. The Ertiga, being an MPV will come in a 7-seater configuration. Going by the spy images circulating on the internet, next-generation Etiga appears to be slightly longer than the current spec version. If this turns out to be true, it will result in more space inside the vehicle. The quality levels of the materials used are expected to improve with this update.
