Tata eVision Concept- Introduction
The automaker showcased the E-Vision concept marking their 20th year at the Geneva Motor Show. While the concept is electric, it is simply a design exercise for the upcoming Tata premium sedan. In production guise, it will be propelled by a petrol and a diesel engine. The E-Vision concept claims to accelerate to 100 kph from standstill in under 7 seconds. The concept offers a maximum speed of 200 kph as well.
Tata eVision Concept Exterior Design
The latest concept from Tata Motors has been unveiled at the ongoing 2018 Geneva Motor Show. The concept features the latest Desing Impact 2.0 design language by Tata. The upcoming Tata H5X SUV and the 45X premium hatchback share the same design language. The Tata E-Vision concept features sharp edges all around. The headlights look similar to that of the BMW i8, except the fact that the i8 uses laser-based lighting. The Tata concept features LED headlights instead. The humanity line prevails with the grille sporting a starry night theme with a distinguishingly bold humanity line running across.
The roofline features coupe-like styling earlier seen on the H5X and the 45X concepts. The rear design looks much more sensible than otherwise seen on the 45X concept. All the accentuating lines like the humanity line up front, the line from A-pillar to the C-pillar etc are all finished in aluminium. The rear features animated tail lights that form a part of the ‘Slingshot’ line that starts at the logo in the middle and extend outwards. The roof is surprisingly see through and hints at the automakers introducing sunroof on their products.

Tata eVision Concept Interior Features
The Tata E-Vision concept features a spacious interior and the coupe-like sloping roofline doesn’t seem to affect the headroom for the rear passengers. The dashboard features a clean and productive layout. The driver’s instrument cluster features a LED display that only turns on when required. The infotainment display lied under the top portion of the dashboard. The aircon controls are touch screen too and their controlling unit rolls out from the bottom of the dashboard and rolls back in when not in use.
The wood insert running across the dashboard looks classy while the same insert is carried over to the door trims as well. There are only five physical controls on the dashboard, most to get access to the various screens that further control other features. The Tata E-Vision is an electric concept but still offers paddle shifters behind the steering wheel meaning the electric motor is attached to an automatic gearbox.
