Finally, BMW is going to make affordable bikes in India. It has partnered up with TVS and is going to launch the BMW G 310 R and G 310 GS in India. Bookings for both the bikes have started on their website. Both the bikes are expected to cost around Rs 3 Lakhs. Read on to know what you can expect from these bikes.
The much-awaited BMW G 310 R And BMW G 310 GS are set to launch in India. The pre-bookings for the bike have already started. The 310 R will be a naked roadster, while the 310 GS will be a sports-cum-adventure bike. As the bookings have started, the bikes are expected to launch by July-August 2018. Both the bikes might launch at affordable prices, which would definitely attract a lot of buyers. The pre-bookings started on 8th June for a token amount of Rs 50,000. For this, the customers can either visit a BMW Motorrad outlet or request a call back simply by filing up an enquiry form online. Deliveries will be done on a first come first serve basis as per orders. They get a 313CC engine that produces 34 BHP worth of power and 28 Nm worth of torque. It uses electronic fuel injection system.

Both the bikes are scheduled to launch together. Recently, it was spotted covered inside a truck with complete ready models. So, expect the bikes to launch in July-August as the pre-bookings for the bike have already begun. The process started on 8th June for a token amount of Rs 50,000. For this, the customers can either visit a BMW Motorrad outlet or request a call back simply by filing up an enquiry form online.

The bike is produced in partnership with TVS at one of its plant in South India. The bike will receive localisation in some parts. As it is BMW’s first try for affordable premium bikes, we expect it to cost around Rs 3 Lakhs (ex-showroom).
BMW G 310 R and G 310 GS Design
BMW released bikes under 500cc for the first time. The BMW G 310 R looks like a pure BMW roadster with superb rugged styling. Heavy muscle lines are seen over the bike. In the front, it gets golden upside-down telescopic forks with 300mm disc brakes. The wheels are made of aluminium cast alloys. It gets a multi-functional display atop the headlamp cowl. The fuel tank sure looks beefy enough. Other design elements include a skid plate, rather upswept exhaust and rear disc brakes.

On the other hand, the BMW G 310 GS fills the void place of a adventure-cum-sports bike. It looks like it can go any terrain, still won’t complain. In the front it gets a long GS snout, safely covering the headlamp. Unlike the 310 R, it gets a rather sleek body. The design elements are same, just the front portion of both the bikes are different.

It delivers a mileage figure of around 30 KMPL and records maximum speed of 144 KMPH. It gets a Multi-plate wet clutch with a 6-speed transmission.

For suspension, both the bikes get upside down telescopic forks in the front and adjustable mono-shock at the rear. In terms of braking, it gets disc brakes of 300mm in the front and 240mm disc brakes in the rear. They also feature dual-channel ABS as a standard feature.
