Bajaj Chetak Scooter might relaunch in India next year, as per the latest reports by GaadiWaadi. It would be a premium 125cc scooter offering priced around Rs 70,000. Following the 125cc scooter, an electric variant of the same scooter might also be launched in India.

All the 90s kid might remember the Bajaj Chetak scooter. Most of the families had it and for them, it would be of great pride to have a scooter. Geared-scooters have become extinct now, the last one was the Honda Eterno. Recent reports say that Bajaj is going to relaunch the Chetak as a 125cc premium scooter. Like the Vespa was revived again, this might get the same treatment. According to GaadiWaadi, this 125cc revival might be priced around Rs 70,000 and is expected to launch next year. Also, there is a subsequent scoop about the Chetak also getting an electric variant next year. We expect both of them to be priced decently and can be a huge hit. A joy for the oldies as they can say that they have a Bajaj Chetak.

Currently, Bajaj has no play in the scooter segment. It is successful with its Pulsar range. Earlier it had some 1-2 scooters in its lineup but were stopped way back. With this Bajaj Chetak, there are some chances of Bajaj again entering the scooter market. The homegrown maker never had a play in the scooter market. Currently, Bajaj dominates in the bike department with its Pulsar 150, NS 160, NS 200 and the Dominar. The Pulsar series has been one of the best seller bikes of India since its launch.

The Chetak will get a 125cc air-cooled engine. It will come with the latest features such as USB charger, LED lamps and tail lights, Fully Digital speedometer and Bluetooth connected speedometer. The electric variant will also get the same features and will be priced a little higher than the 125cc variant. Expect it to be priced around Rs 1 Lakhs easily. The Electric might be called the ‘Chetak Chic Electric scooter’ and is expected to launch in 2020.
