The much-awaited BMW G 310 R and G 310 GS have been launched in India. While the G 310 R is a naked roadster, the G 310 GS is an adventure bike. The 310 R is priced at Rs 2.99 lakh and the other one is priced at Rs 3.49 (ex-showroom). Read ahead to know all the details of the bike.
Welcome the most affordable bikes from BMW. The BMW G 310 R and G 310 GS have been launched in India. Both the bikes were much awaited by the Indian buyers. While the 310 R is a naked roadster the 310 GS is an adventure bike. The roadster is priced at Rs 2.99 lakh and the ADV bike is priced at Rs 3.49 lakh (ex-showroom). These bikes have been built in a partnership with TVS at the homegrown brand’s Hosur factory in Tamil Nadu. Both the bikes get the same 313cc liquid cooled engine. Some features like ABS, Smoked Signal lenses, Front and Rear disc brakes and the LCD display are standard in both the bikes. At these prices, they are the most affordable BMW bikes you can get. Let’s get down to more details of both the bikes.
BMW G 310 R
The 310 R is a naked roadster bike. The looks are similar to the elder siblings such as the BMW R 1200 R. The bike gets all the killer looks with a beefy yet chiselled body. It gets heavy muscle lines over the whole body. The main design elements include the gold anodized upside-down telescopic forks, the perfected swing-aluminium frame, the minimalistic yet sporty graphics and the upswept exhaust. The bike will come in Cosmic Black, Racing Red and Motorsport White colours.
The bike gets a 313cc liquid cooled engine that churns out 34 BHP of power and 28 Nm of torque. It gets a 6-speed wet-clutch transmission. The 310 R is capable of reaching a top speed of 144 Km/hr (estimated). For fuel efficiency, it gets an Electronic Fuel Injection system. We expect the mileage to be around 30 KMPL. The fuel tank capacity of the bike is around 11 Litres with a reserve fuel capacity of 1 Litre.
For the features, the bike gets front and rear disc brakes with BMW Motorrad ABS, upside down gold telescopic forks, smoked signal lenses, LED tail light, fully-digital LCD display and a toolkit. These features are quite sufficient for this bike.
BMW G 310 GS
The 310 GS also inherits the bold off-road looks for the other powerful BMW models. While adventure/tourer bikes are not much popular in India, this one is the third one to be priced under Rs 5 Lakhs. Rest of them, are much much costly. Unlike the 310 R, this one gets a sleek toned body. The styling highlights of the bike include its trademark GS Snout, bigger 19-inch rims and a small windscreen.
The BMW G 310 R and G 310 GS get the same engine. This bike also gets the 313cc liquid cooled engine. This bike is heavier than the 310 R, as it weighs 169 kgs, 11 kgs more. So the top-speed recorded on this bike is around 142 Km/hr. The fuel tank capacity and the expected mileage will be the same as the 310 R.
For the features, the smoked turn signal lenses, BMW Motorrad ABS, gold upside-down telescopic forks and other features are standard. While this bike gets 2 more features including a luggage rack at the rear side and a windshield.
