The upcoming Hero Xtreme 200R prices are out on its official website. At a price of Rs 88,000 (ex-showroom), it is priced quite comparatively against its other 200cc rivals, including TVS Apache RTR 200 4V, Pulsar NS200 and KTM Duke 200. However, there is no official announcement from Hero yet. It is a naked street bike offering by Hero, which is quite important for the Homegrown maker. Now that the specs and prices are out, we expect this bike to launch in July-August period. Although the Hero Xtreme 200R prices are out for only 8 north-eastern states until now, the prices for rest of India will also be out soon. This 200cc naked street bike is quite important for Hero because most of the popular Hero bikes are commuter bikes. Currently, its most powerful one in the market Hero Karizma ZMR which is a 225cc bike, but not that popular.

Xtreme 200R runs on a 199.6cc single cylinder engine that churns out power worth 18.1 BHP and torque worth 17.1 Nm. It comes mated to a 5-speed manual transmission, while some of its competitors get 6-speed gearboxes. The highest speed recorded on this bike is 118 KMPH, as it delivers a mileage figure of 40 KMPL. It accelerates 0-60 KMPH in 4.6 seconds, which is pretty much decent. It is built on a heavily reworked body of the Xtreme Sports and also takes some elements from the ZMR. However, its suspensions are tuned better than ZMR.

The features of the bike include Halogen LED headlamps, LED Pilot lights, LED tail light, dual-coloured seat, and a combination of digital and analogue instrument console. The digital cluster gives all the basic information such as a clock, fuel indicator and a trip meter. We think that for a 200cc, less information on its cluster is insufficient. For safety, it gets front and rear disc brakes with single-channel ABS, which is optional. Overall, it lacks on some features like a slipper clutch, fuel injection and more, which are found in the other 200cc bikes. But still, at a price of Rs 88,000, this is a good deal.
