Maruti Suzuki India has recalled 1279 units of the new Swift and new Dzire for a possible fault in the Airbag Controller Unit. Maruti has voluntary recalled 566 units of the new Swift and 713 Units of the new Dzire. We list the steps to help you in checking whether your car is affected or not.
Maruti Suzuki India Limited has recalled 566 units of the new Swift and 713 units of the new Dzire for voluntary inspection of a possible fault in the Airbag Controller Unit. The units manufactured between 7th May 2018 and 5th July 2018 will be covered in this campaign. The Maruti Suzuki dealers will contact the owners starting 25th July to get their cars checked at the nearest dealer workshop. If the fault is detected, it will be repaired for free of cost. The customers can also visit the company website for this. They have to fill in the chassis number (For new Swift – MBH and for new Dzire – MA3 followed by 14 digits alpha-numeric number) on the computer for checking the details. Customers may also contact the nearest dealer workshop to ascertain if their vehicle is among the affected ones.

The new Maruti Suzuki Swift was launched in February 2018. Since its launch, it has been a huge hit because of its spunky looks. The latest iteration has received a much big update from the last generation. The features of the latest generation include LED DRLs and taillights, touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and Reverse parking sensors with a camera. For safety, the hatchback uses Dual front airbags, ABS with EBD and ISOFIX. The prices of the hatchback start at Rs 4.99 Lakhs and go up to Rs 7.96 Lakhs (ex-showroom).

The new Maruti Dzire, like the Swift, received a complete makeover. It is made sleeker and sportier, making it look more as a sedan. Features of the sedan include Auto LED Projector Headlamps, Steering-mounted Audio and Telephone Controls, Rear AC Vents, Touchscreen Infotainment with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and much more. It is built on the new New lightweight ‘HEARTECT’ platform, which is much stronger. For safety, it gets features like Dual Front Airbags, ABS with EBD, ISOFIX and Reverse parking sensors with a camera. The prices of the Dzire start from Rs 5.45 Lakhs and go up to Rs 9.41 Lakhs (ex-showroom).
