Maruti Swift- Pros
#Pro 1- Stylish Looks
One must have to agree that with this 2018 iteration, Suzuki has styled the Swift quite brilliantly. It looks quite a lot more mature. Ans at the same time continues to have its sporty appeal. That said, it still has the traditional aesthetics which make it easily identifiable as a Swift. It now comes with a broad Suzuki grille, swelled wheel arches and a C-pillar mounted rear door handle. All of this combined makes this car feel very stylish and modern. The Swift has always been a car for the young at heart. With this third generation, this hatchback gets a very stylish cabin layout. The colour scheme is all black with silver accents. Not only this, but it comes with a flat-button steering wheel, adding to its overall sporty appeal. The controls for the air-con module feel nice and premium. The instrument cluster comes with large dials and also gets a small display for driver information. The seats are nice and comfortable.

The 2018 Maruti Swift comes with a host of features and creature comforts. Some of these are segmented first and only available in cars a segment above it. For instance, the top-spec trims come with projector headlamps, LED tail-lamps, LED daytime running lights to name a few. In addition to this, this hatchback comes with a touchscreen infotainment system. This unit supports Apple Car Play and Android Auto. Also, it gets electrically adjustable ORVMs, night and day rear view mirror, automatic climate control among the others.
#Pro 3- Automatic Gearbox (AMT)
For the first time, with this third generation Swift, Maruti has introduced an AMT gearbox. This automatic transmission is available with both petrol as well as diesel derivatives. This gearbox is a five-speed unit. And is the same unit which we also see on the Dzire and Ignis. This gearbox, despite being an AMT is one of the smoothest in the segment and offers fine gearshifts.

Not only this, thanks to its lightweight construction, it results in an end product which can promise high mileage numbers. Currently, the Swift diesel promises an ARAI certified fuel-efficiency figure of 28.4 km/l. While the petrol derivative of this hatchback promises a mileage of 22 km/l. Not only this, but the car now comes with dual-airbags with ABS and EBD as standard across the range.

Maruti Swift- Cons
#Con 1- Material Quality
Despite the Swift having an appealing cabin layout, the material quality at some places feels a bit tacky and lacklustre. For instance, Maruti could have improved on the switchgear and not use the ones from the older generation model. In fact, the quality feels a tad sub-standard when compared with the competition, the Hyundai Grand i10.
#Con 2- No AMT In Top-End Trims
For now, the AMT gearbox in the Swift is only available in the VXI and ZXi trims. The top-end ZXI Plus variant is not available with the AMT gearbox. As a result of this, those opting for the AMT variants have to miss out on features like projector headlamps, LED DRLs, Smartplay infotainment system among the other features.

#Con 3- No Rear Air-Con Vent
