The Renault KWID facelift was spotted recently with some extra features and minor cosmetic changes. It is a much popular entry-level hatchback. Since its launch, it has not received any update. The facelift might launch during the festive season 2018.
Renault KWID is a very popular buy for first-time buyers or those who are looking for entry-level hatchbacks. Earlier, this segment was in Alto’s hand, which now is being sidelined by this car. The KWID gets some more features than the Alto and moreover, it looks much much better. Feels like a crossover or a mini-mini-SUV. It was launched sometime in 2015 and still has not received any update. Recent spy photos by Motoroctane show us the 2019 Renault KWID facelift. It gets some new features and minor visual changes. There is no change in the engine specifications. Also, the hatchback is expected to launch in India during this festive season. The pricing will increase, but would not command a large premium over the current prices. We expect the prices to start from Rs 3 Lakhs to Rs 5 Lakhs (ex-showroom).
It gets some features upgrades and some minor visual ones. In the cabin, it gets a charging socket for rear passengers, chrome finish door handles, a reverse parking camera and a slightly tweaked 7-inch MediaNAV touchscreen. The reverse marking camera has been installed on the diamond logo of ‘Renault’. On the exterior, it gets a new front grille with chrome inserts. The variant in the photo gets dark finish wheel covers and matching ORVM case. These two features are seen in the top-end RXZ variant, indicating that all of these features will come in top-spec trim. Also, the Climber would get these features.
The engine specs of the Renault KWID facelift will be the same. Engine option includes a 0.8 Litre and a 1.0 Litre petrol engine. The 0.8 L engine produces 50 BHP of power and 72 Nm of torque. The other engine produces 65 BHP of power and 91 Nm of torque. The engines are mated to a 5-speed Manual Transmission with an optional 5-speed AMT.

For safety, the hatchback gets driver side airbag, audible parking brake and central locking system. The hatchback starts from Rs 2.67 Lakhs and goes up to Rs 4.34 Lakhs (ex-showroom). At this price, it competes with Maruti Alto. While Maruti offers much fewer features than the KWID, it comes with great reliability and trust.
