Maxi-style scooters are making a debut in India. The first from its segment is the Suzuki Burgman Street 125. The latest Suzuki scooter has been launched in India for a price of Rs 68,000 (ex-showroom). Amidst many scoops and leaks, it has been finally launched in India. Well, the Suzuki scooters lineup was lacking a bit, to which, this addition could be a bonus point. Currently, it only has the Access 125 and Let’s in its lineup. Globally, the Burgman series starts from 125cc and goes up to 650cc scooter. If you closely look at the global Burgman, it looks larger and somewhat different from the Indian version. You can say that the Indian spec is derived from the global one but does not look identical. Let’s move on to more details of the scooter in this article.

Suzuki Burgman Street 125 gets a 124.3cc air-cooled engine, which is running the Access. This engine is capable of producing 8.7 BHP of power and 10.2 Nm of torque. It may not have the fastest engine in its segment but is capable of delivering a top speed of around 95 Km/hr. For transmission, it uses a CVT gearbox. The mileage is estimated to be around 48 KMPL. The fuel tank capacity is 5.6 Litres with a 1 Litre reserve fuel tank, with an approximate riding range of 300 Kms.
Moving on the features, it comes with some premium features. These features are quite sufficient while comparing with other scooters in this segment. It gets a Fully Digital LCD Instrument Cluster, LED headlamp unit, a charging socket, a multi-functional key and a bigger storage box on the front apron. For safety, it gets front disc brakes and rear drum brakes. While the global one gets ABS too, this one misses out on the safety measure.

Design-wise, you might find it a bit disproportionate. At the front, it gets a large dominating front apron and at the rear end, it looks smaller. With its sharp creases over the body, it surely gives a sporty edge. The placement of the turn indicators is a new design. Also, for more sporty behaviour, it gets a front windshield. You might find the handlebar placed unusually, but Maxi-scooters look different, that’s the point. The exhaust looks awfully big. At the rear end, it gets big side rails atop the tail lights and the turn indicators. Similar looking designs were seen at the now extinct, Kinetic Blaze and the Honda Cliq.
