Honda CB 300R could launch in India soon; Patent filed in India

Latest scoop says that the Neo-cafe racer Honda CB 300R could launch in India soon. The bike has been patented for the Indian market. If launched, it will take on the might of G310R, Duke 390 and the upcoming Husqvarna Svartpilen 401. Read ahead to get more details.

Currently, the most powerful bike in Honda‘s India lineup is the CBR 250R. You can get the CBR 650F and other high-end bikes, but they are all CBUs and hence they have a higher price tag. The 250R is also an average player in the market, because of growing competition. Earlier, it used to be amongst the few premium bikes which people would think of buying. Now, we have the latest scoop from Gaadiwaadi suggesting that Honda CB 300R is patented for the Indian markets. It means that the bike could launch soon in India. The CB 300R is not a naked bike but is a neo-cafe racer. It was showcased last year at the EICMA Milan, following which is currently on sale in some European and some South-East Asian countries. We expect it to be priced between Rs 2-2.5 Lakhs. Check out more details about this upcoming sports bike.

The Honda CB 300R comes with a 286cc liquid-cooled single cylinder engine. This engine churns out 31 BHP @ 8500 RPM of power and 27.5 Nm @ 7500 RPM of torque. The engine comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox with a multi-plate wet clutch. It also gets a Fuel Injection system for better performance. The mileage claimed on this bike is around 30 KMPL.

The CB 300R comes with front and rear disc brakes with dual-channel ABS. The front brake is a 296mm floating disc with radial-mount Nissin calliper and the rear one is a 220mm disc with single piston calliper. For suspension duties, it gets a telescopic fork in the front and a Monoshock Damper with Pre-Link Swingarm suspension in the rear. It weighs around 143 Kgs.

Features onboard Honda CB 300R include LED Headlights, LED Tail Lights, Dual-Channel ABS, LCD Instrument cluster, showing speed, engine rpm, fuel level, and gear position and an Upswept Rear Exhaust system. However, with these bikes, features do not matter much, as performance matters more.

IF the Honda CB 300R launches in India, it will take on KTM Duke 390, BMW G 310R and the upcoming Husqvarna Svartpilen 401. As we said, the expected price of the bike is around Rs 2-2.5 Lakhs. In the USA, the prices were around Rs 3.2 Lakhs. With heavy localization, the prices can be easily bought down.  If launched at this price, it will be a bummer for the G310 R and Svartpilen 401. It will mainly compete with the G 310 R and Svartpilen 401 in terms of the similar design pattern.
