Kia Motors have confirmed that they are going to launch their first product in India, a compact SUV based on the Kia SP Concept. The launch of this vehicle is scheduled for second half of 2019. This urban SUV is going to use the same platform, engine specifications and a major chunk of its components with the Hyundai Creta. Not only this, but we are estimating it to be priced close to the Creta, within the bracket of INR 9 lakh to 15 lakh. Hence, making it compete in the segment of compact urban SUV. The Kia SP Concept is expected to go into production by mid-2019. If all goes well, the automaker might even launch their first SUV in the nation by the festive season of 2019. The rear portion of the SP Concept derives cues from the Certa and the Sportage SUV.

The upcoming 5-seater SUV, for instance, is expected to carry the fully digital instrument cluster from the concept to production. Upon launch, the Kia SUV will be the only car in the segment to have such feature.
