KTM Duke 390 has been silently recalled for a free upgrade of the Monsoon Kit Fitment. It will replace some parts of the bike for a better use in Monsoon. It is not a proper recall, but 2017 and 2018 KTM Duke 390 are getting this upgrade for free of cost. Check out the details.
As we said, the KTM Duke 390 has been recalled for fitting the Monsoon kit. In the kit, the bike gets a new ECU bracket, pillion seat damping bushes and also fixing the headlamp vibrations. A lot of customers had been complaining about this headlamp problem for a year. Also, if it is necessary, KTM will also flash a software update on the bikes that face the issue of the headlamp randomly turning off. Even this fault has been rectified by many customers for over a year now. The Indian-spec KTMs have been giving some issues over the quality of parts. Till now, there has been 1 earlier recall in January over new technical updates.

The new ECU bracket gets a cover to protect the unit from water and other disturbing elements. For increasing the gap between the seat and the tail-light, the pillion seat damping bushes are redesigned. Earlier, the lights used to crack sometimes because of a heavier pillion onboard.
In the earlier recall in January, the Duke 390 was recalled for a few technical updates for the 2018 iteration. The updates included a new software for the instrument console and increase in the idle RPM. The idle speed was increased from 1200 -1600 RPM from the earlier 1200-1600 RPM figures. Also, the design of the radiator shrouds has been tweaked for proper air management.

The Duke 390 is a pure-breed naked sports bike from the Austrian bike makers. It looks like its just made for youngsters and no one else. There’s no subtlety and just aggressive looks. The bike comes with a 379cc liquid cooled engine, which churns out 40 BHP of power and 37 Nm of torque. It gets a 6-speed transmission with a slipper clutch. The mileage of the Duke is around 25 KMPL and it achieves a top speed of 165 km/hr.

Features of the naked bike include LED Split headlamps, LED turn indicators, Bluetooth smartphone integration, Riding Modes, LED pilot lamps, LCD instrument panel with a colour screen and a Dual channel ABS. It competes with the likes of Benelli TNT 300, BMW G 310 R, Kawasaki Ninja 300 and Yamaha R3.
