The Maruti Suzuki Ciaz is all set to receive its mid-cycle facelift in this month. Ciaz was one of the popular c-segment sedans in India and also a top-one in Maruti’s lineup. Currently, competing in the mid-size executive sedan segment with Toyota Yaris, Hyundai Verna, and Honda City isn’t easy for Ciaz. The 2018 version gets a host of upgrades, which include cosmetic upgrades, new feature upgrades, and a new 1.5 Litre petrol engine. Currently, the official bookings for the sedan have begun, for a token amount of Rs 11,000 and Rs 21,000, depending upon the dealership. Also, Maruti has recently teased the sedan for a couple of times. The price expectations of the sedan start from Rs 8 Lakhs to Rs 11.6 Lakhs. Maruti Ciaz 2018 Vs Old Ciaz Design: 

As it is a facelift, it will get some cosmetic upgrades. The changes are not major but can be noticed easily. The front bumper gets a revised design. A reworked design can be seen on the front grille and fog lamp housing bracket. The headlight structure will be the same but might get new LED lightings. It also gets a new set of alloy wheels. The rear portion of the body remains identical, but it can also get some LED treatment.

The interiors would mostly remain the same for the Maruti Ciaz 2018. We expect the seat fabric to be new and also there can be some wood or silver ascents over the dashboard. Rest of the dashboard and the dual-tone colour combo would remain the same.

The new Maruti Ciaz 2018 is going to feature with a new 1.5 Litre K15B petrol engine. Earlier, it used the 1.4 Litre K-Series petrol engine. The new motor dolls out power worth of 104 BHP and 138 Nm of torque. However, it still continues with its tried and tested 1.3 Litre DDiS diesel engine. The diesel engine churns out 88 BHP of power and 200 Nm of torque. The petrol engine gets an option of 5-speed manual and Automatic transmission. The diesel one gets only a 6-speed Manual transmission. The mileage estimated for the new petrol engine is around 18 KMPL and the diesel one gives out around 24 KMPL on road.

Maruti Ciaz 2018 Vs Old Ciaz Prices: 

Lastly, we come to the price difference between the both. We expect a mere difference of around Rs 10,000 – 20,000 between the Old and the new prices. Maruti always undercuts its rivals when it comes to pricing. Latest reports suggest that it will be priced around Rs 6,000 lower than the Verna, around Rs 1.4 Lakhs lower than the City and around Rs 1.02 Lakhs difference between the base models of all these sedans. So, as we know about Maruti’s gameplay, we expect the new prices to start from Rs 8 Lakhs and go up to Rs 11.6 Lakhs.
