TVS Radeon has been launched in India at a price of Rs 48,400 (ex-showroom Delhi). It was earlier showcased at the 2010 Auto Expo. TVS Radeon gets a 110cc Duralife engine. The engine churns out 8.4 BHP of power and 8.7 Nm of torque. TVS claims that it will deliver a mileage of 69.3 KMPL, which could bring down the on-road mileage to around 63 KMPL. It comes with a fuel tank capacity of 10 Litres, taking the total riding range to 600 kms on a full tank. The bike records 0-60 km/hr in 8.34 seconds.

It looks a bit refreshed than the usual Splendor. It gets knee pads on the uniquely styled fuel tank. In the front, it gets LED DRLs integrated into its headlamps. Moreover, the bike looks boxy and plain. But at this price, you have to choose mileage over the looks. The engine and gearbox get light golden highlights and heavy chrome inserts are seen on the carrier, exhaust, crash guard, kick starter and rear shock absorbers.

Features on the TVS Radeon include largest cushion seat in the segment, LED DRLs, USB charging slot, chrome covered silencer, side stand indicator, 18″ wheels, longest wheelbase and ground clearance in its segment and flexible turn signal lamps. It gets drum brakes with segment first synchronized braking for better safety.

Also, the most unusual thing seen is the funky looking speedometer, which TVS says that it resembles to a car’s speedometer. We think that these features are sufficient enough for a bike under Rs 50,000. However, Splendor Plus and Pro get fewer features than TVS Radeon.

At this price, it takes on the Hero Splendor Plus and Pro and Honda CD Dream 110 DX. The Splendor Plus and Dream are merely RS 500-1000 higher than the Radeon. Currently, Splendor is one of the highest selling motorcycles in India. Do you think the TVS Radeon will have a stand against it?
