The 2018 Hyundai Santro is all set to launch in India on the 24th of October. Hyundai will officially unveil this hatchback to the media on 9th October. We are expecting the South-Korean automaker to officially open the bookings for this entry-level vehicle within the first week of the aforementioned month only.
So far, Hyundai has been silent about the name of this new entry-level hatchback. In a recently conducted contest by the company, the maximum number of votes went to ‘Santro’. Hence, we expect the company to bring back the moniker to what it is currently referring to as the AH2, its codename.

The next-generation Hyundai’s small car will get a petrol engine in its line-up. This is going to be the same 1.0-litre motor that the current spec i10 uses. This motor produces 68 BHP of power along with 99 Nm of peak torque. The 2018 Santro is going to get a 5-speed manual transmission as standard. Hyundai might also introduce an automatic variant as well.
