Already the next-generation Honda Jazz has been spotted testing in global markets. It is most likely to come by 2021 after the BS-VI emission norms kick in 2020. Some reports also suggest that it could come with an optional Electric powertrain.
Just last a couple of months back Honda Jazz (Read More) received a mid-life cycle update and got some new features onboard. Jazz is one of Honda’s important product for India, despite having poor sales figures compared to other Honda models. Now we get the latest spy images of the next-generation Honda Jazz testing. It is not spotted in India, but in some global market. Since it is a whole new generation update, major design changes along with feature upgrades are expected.
With this, many reports also suggest that the next-generation Honda Jazz might come with an optional electric powertrain. Globally, the model is known as Honda Fit, which in local markets is known as Jazz. In many global markets, the Jazz comes with a hybrid option, which can also come to the Indian markets.

The next-generation Honda Jazz mule was camouflaged heavily. It will get a revised front grille, tweaked headlamp housing and a revised bumper set. Also, a new set of alloy wheels and wheel covers will come with the next-gen.
The current Jazz comes with most of the features that are found in its segment. So, as such, there is no clear idea on the feature upgrades that the next-generation Honda Jazz will get. But we can expect a revised touchscreen infotainment system, a revised instrument cluster and MID and some improved technology in the system.

There are some other reports suggesting that the Jazz will get a new wider chassis. In Japan, it is rumoured to get a 1.0 Litre turbo-charged petrol engine that produces 125 BHP of power. It might come in the Indian-spec too because Honda already has to upgrade the engines according to the new emission norms. Or, it can also continue with the BS-VI version of the current 1.2 Litre petrol engine.
Since by the launch of next-generation Honda Jazz, new safety norms will kick in. So for safety features, it will get ESC and Autonomous Emergency braking as standard fitments. However, we expect the next-gen Jazz to be updated with the latest technology and features.

Currently, it is expected to launch first in Japanese markets by 2019. In India, it would definitely not come before the BS-VI norms. So, we expect a launch date in the fiscal year of 2020-21.
