Toyota is celebrating 20 years of the Yaris supermini by introducing a new limited edition called the Y20.
The model is set to be revealed at the Paris Motor Show in October, and just 1,998 will be built – paying homage to the brand’s first ever Yaris launch back at the same motor show in 1998.

The Toyota Yaris Y20 Launch Edition gets gold paintwork to mirror the original supermini, but adds a bi-tone dark grey roof, grey side mouldings, a grey front grille, grey door mirror casings and grey fog light surrounds.
All Y20 models also get dark-tinted rear privacy glass, 16-inch 10-spoke alloy wheels in grey, and special Y20 exterior badging.
Inside, the Y20 features a new chequer pattern fabric upholstery, a dark grey-themed centre console, grey steering wheel inserts and Y20 badging on the instrument panel and front seatbacks.
Following the 1,998 Launch Edition models, Toyota will continue the Y20 theme with a full-production car. The resulting Yaris Y20 will follow as part of the 2019 range, with a similar bi-tone finish. It’ll be available in silver, white or black – all with a dark grey roof.
It’s not clear which engine options will be available, and prices haven’t been announced either. More information will be revealed after the car’s Paris Motor Show debut.
