Hero Maestro Edge 125 will be sportier than the Destini 125, as said by Hero officials. Maestro Edge will rival TVS Ntorq, Suzuki Burgman Street and Honda Grazia.
Hero Motocorp just launched its first 125cc scooter, Destini 125 in India. The Destini 125 is a traditionally styled family scooter. At the launch event, they mentioned their another upcoming 125cc scooter. Hero officials stated that they will launch a sportier 125cc scooter with disc brakes and latest features in early months of 2019. We all know it is the Maestro Edge 125. It was earlier showcased at 2018 Auto Expo. The Hero Maestro Edge 125 will be their answer to TVS Ntorq, Suzuki Burgman Street and Honda Grazia.
Currently, the scooter lineup of Hero includes Pleasure, Duet, and Maestro Edge. These three are 110cc scooters and are giving decent sales figures. Pleasure is targeted towards female riders, Duet towards family audiences and Maestro for the younger generation.

Since Hero plans to make the 125cc Maestro sportier than Destini, it will get the same engine but with increased power and torque figures. The figures can increase by around 10%, easily. The Destini 125 puts out 8.7 BHP and 10.2 Nm of torque. Its main rival Ntorq produces 9.2 BHP and 10.5 Nm.
Moreover, the Hero Maestro Edge 125 will sport latest features like the Destini. Expect the Maestro Edge to have a front disc brake, fully digital speedometer, pass switch, sportier and a sleeker body and a bigger set of wheels. For better power figures, there are changes that Hero might use fibre body for the Maestro Edge 125. The 125cc Maestro Edge will sport a similar bodywork to the 110cc Maestro Edge, but with sharper creases and front disc brakes.

The Hero Maestro Edge 125 will be squarely aimed at TVS Ntorq, which is the current leader in its segment. Also, the NTorq is cheaper than Grazia and Burgman. So, to match up to the levels of NTorq, Maestro Edge must have a similar price range.
The top-end variant of Destini 125 is priced at Rs 57,500. Whereas, the Ntorq goes out for Rs 59,712. So, the Maestro Edge might start off at around Rs 59,000 for a proper competition. The other rivals, Grazia and Burgman Street, are priced a bit higher than the Ntorq.

We rode the Destini 125 and found out the engine to be perfectly balanced for its targeted audience. We expect a similar kind of performance from the Maestro Edge 125 for its younger targeted audience.
